You find a few modded firmwares like OpenWRT, HyperWRT, Sveasoft out there for the Linksys WRT54G. But if you screw up with something and can’t reflash your device anymore your stuck with a 100chf electronic brick.

You can even attach your old palm to the serial port to use it as a lcd display or connect some weather sensors. Cool!
