Having the right laptop is really important to me (as I don’t really have a desktop computer, just a bunch of linux servers). But choosing the right one and being sure to spend the money right isn’t that easy at all. I tried to illustrate my actual plans:

The d410 really made a good impression on me because he is small, not heavy at all and is equiped with good hardware. I’ll post some experience once UPS delivers my long awated replacement laptop!
I hope Apple will update their Powerbook series in 2006/Q2,3 to Intel processors, as having a G5 now seems very unrealistic..
We’ll see. -
By the way, my blog now also is “too cool for IE”, inspired by B-O-K

I would definitely wait and buy a Mac. I switched from PC to Mac last November and I have never been happier. I am now a lifelong Apple advocate! They’re terrific machines.
I really don’t like working on / with laptops if I a regular desktop is closer (got a Dell Latitude D600 for work), but I am thinking about a new Apple iBook… If only the videocard was a little better (32MB video RAM is so 1998
)
Oh and good to see that I give you some inspiration, heh-heh!
OK - I have to admit that the d410 already arrived at home.
Altough it does not have a nice aluminium case it makes a real good impression on me - magnesia case, really fast going processor and having 1gb of ram is just awesome (in comparison to 256 regular sdram).
Well the first thing I did was installing Flyakite to get a OS X feeling…
BOK: the thing I like about notebooks is the portability, especially if you live at two different places and commute all the time.
Save up real hard to get a Powerbook!
I’m using an HP NX7010 and its great - although it’d also need flyakite
