Some random thought I mind sharing while listening to some iShuffle tune:
Too bad there is no opensource iPod shuffle firmware out there (at least I’m not aware of any - they do exist for its big brother here (linux) and here). Despite the missing display the device gives me all the functionality a music player needs. Although today I was crawling through my iShuffle library on iTunes in order to look up one cool song I was listening to previously on the road. I figured it would be easier if you could somehow mark songs by pressing some button (combination) on the iPod Shuffle if you like it (similar to rating). Maybe tripple volume up or down (like the tripple pause to hop to the beginning of the playlist).
So if there had been an opensource firmware, I’d try my best to implement some additions.
Why don’t the “listened to song counts” get updated anyway?
