My new favorite OS X tool quicksilver (I even deleted all my dock items after I got inspired by my cousin) suddenly started to bother me with a small “..updating” box, which always reappeard again after clicking it away - even fiddling with the settings did not help.

I finally found this great app (there is also a free lite version of rooSwitch) over here. It is able to move, copy or delete program profiles within OS X (~/Library/Caches etc.). With its help I managed to create a new quicksilver profile and the problems disappeared!
