The latest svn revision (r228) of kismac seems to support passive scanning with airport extreme cards on MacBooks (at least on mine) without sudden program termination. Data recording is working as well!
I compiled a version which works for me:

If there would only be some driver out there for airport extreme with passive mode.. (To use kismet or wicrawl on a MacBook).

  1. Works well on my iBook G4 too! I had this piece of software since day one on my notebook, but somehow during software-updates it stopped working. I (re-)installed your version and this one works (again).
The amount of access-points in my neighborhood seem to increase by the day!

What revision macbook do you have? Core2 or Core2duo?

  3. I have a first gen macbook - doesn’t it work with the newer revisions?
