So there’s (yet) no point in updating to the already jailbroken firmware 1.1.3. Since only the operating system part get’s a patched update the baseband stays the same and won’t be able to offer ex. the localization feature in Google Maps out of the box, there appears to be a fix, however (see below). The bright side: SIM unlocks and Turbo SIM’s should work fine with this method. Didn’t verify that though.
Hacktheiphone.com states:
This method is different from every other update in that we are only replacing the iPhone’s operating system and not updating the baseband. There is no unlock for 1.1.3, so there is no point in having the new baseband.
Note that this is not an OTB 1.1.3 jailbreak and doesn’t appear to be working with basebands > 3.9, according to hackint0sh forums.
If you’re still brave enough to do a soft-update, try fixing some of various issues with the hacked updated.
Simply install “Locate Me” or “Navizon” from Installer. Locate where you are using either of this 2 softwares, then open Google Maps and the virtual GPS function should work now.
